Every year more than 34,000 people die from suicide. It is estimated that more than three times that number of people make suicide attempts that do not result in death. Even when death is not the result of a suicide attempt, lives are disrupted, finances are burdened, trust is lost within relationships, and hearts are broken. Many people who do attempt suicide suffer from a diagnosable and treatable mental health condition such as depression or anxiety. Often those who make suicide attempts and their family members are unaware that help is available. Education can help to reduce the numbers and save lives. I am pleased to offer my services for speaking engagements on all aspects of suicide.
I am available for speaking engagements on all aspects of suicide:
counseling suicide attempt survivors, and
post-vention (for those who remain after the suicide death of a loved one.)
I am available to speak on a variety of subjects related to grief, trauma, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
I have specialty training and certification in these issues. I LOVE speaking with people on these issues, and I also believe that a lot of the pain associated with theses issues can be reduced or avoided. Learn about the causes of grief, trauma, and PTSD pain, how it can be effectively treated, and how to support others who experience these types of issues.
Arrangements to have me join your group and speak on these issues or to help facilitate a group discussion on these issues, can be made with a minimum of three weeks prior notice.
I would love to help your group members.
